Product Description

These Standard Northern Fir 26mm Volet Lame door shutters can be used as external door shutters, outbuilding entry doors or in pairs for the garage or a small barn.

With every pair of door shutters ordered we include one centre closing piece which covers the central gap.

Our standard door shutters come in three traditional styles:

  • no ledge
  • ledge
  • ledge and brace

All three options are made to our high standards as appreciated by many happy customers.

These door shutters or an external door choice may be constructed with 2,3 or no ledges. We will decide according to the height of the product ordered how many ledge required within our own tolerances.

If the ledge and brace option is chosen we will decide the best style of brace whether to be a through brace or a double Z design. We will choose either option better suited to the dimensions of your shutter but If you have a preference please send us a message when ordering. This only applies if three ledges are required.

We make these shutters with human input and take every care that they are constructed to a high standard. It is important to us that we keep our excellent reputation for quality versus value. Every board is checked for trueness and moisture content before we position within the new shutter being made.

We construct using discreet mechanical fixings and waterproof powdered resin glues as used in boat-building but we also allow for expansion and contraction. The special glues seal the wood behind the ledges and braces thus helping to prevent water ingress. This can be seen on one of my demonstration videos.

When you order from us you can be sure of getting the best value and an ethical product compared with our competition.

In France many insurance companies impose the use of shutters for physical security so it is very important that you have shutters to address the details of your home insurance policy.

Please note: we do understand that everybody’s requirements to style etc may not be the same. We are happy to discuss in detail your personal preferences, simply send us a message and we will do our best.

All three options are made to our high standards as appreciated by many happy customers.

How to Measure

wallybois - how to measure for shutters

If you would like to place an order we will need measurements of the window reveal. Largest width measurement and tallest measurement from the sill to the lintel. The measurement will be for 2 shutters (vantails) generally but the measurement will be fine for single shutters. Each pair will come with a closer to cover the central joint. This is fixed to one shutter only.

We at Wallybois are keen not to damage our shared planet so we have made the conscious effort to limit our industrial carbon footprint. The workshops at Wallybois are mainly powered using solar and the Oak lumber is locally sourced in the Limousin. This cuts down on our environmental transport and carbon impact.
